The mule track from Iselle

From the Iselle train station, a carefully marked path leads, passing through Pianezza and Chiezzo, to the centre of Trasquera.
The trail is well marked, but exposed in some parts. If it is wet there is a risk of slipping. Duration: 1.5 hours.

One of the portals of the Simplon tunnel. The tunnel has two lanes. The openings at the top belong to a bunker system for the defense of the tunnel during the two world wars.

The bunker is reached via an overgrown path with a rusted iron area west of the train station.

An elaborate path winds up the steep rock face. Large blocks of stone have been stacked to form steep steps. If you don't have your head up, you can hold on to the handrail, which is missing or wobbly in places.
